Poppyseed Bread

Makes 2 loaves

Ingredients

  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup poppy seeds

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F 160/170C Gas mark 3
  • Grease and flour two 9" by 5" loaf tins.
  • Mix the flour, salt, sugar, and soda in a mixing bowl.
  • Add the vanilla, milk, eggs and oil and beat for 5 minutes with an electric mixer.
  • Stir in the poppy seed.
  • Pour the batter into 2 loaf tins.
  • Bake for 1 hour.
  • Cool.
