Italian Dessert Recipes
Italy offers some of the best desserts in the world, however it's not the norm to have a dessert after every meal.

In Italy they usually finish with some fruit or a piece of cheese, not forgetting you've already had three courses.
I have to be honest though, we have enjoyed their desserts, especially when the lady of the trattoria comes out with a fantastic homemade creation and puts it right in front of you!
But we have had to come home on a diet to justify doing so!!
We try to be good when we're staying in hotels in Italy, maybe just popping down the local pasticceria late afternoon for a small Italian masterpiece….wonder what Michelangelo would think of all these wonderful creations?
We humble cooks might not be able to recreate their elaborate confections but there are desserts that are certainly within the scope of the average cook. So we've put together our own selection and they turn out well, especially if you're having friends round for dinner.
