Penne Pasta with Pancetta

Ingredients

  • 200g Penne pasta
  • 200g Pancetta cubes
  • 100g Frozen peas, defrosted
  • 200g Half fat Crème fraiche
  • 2 Small onions, finely chopped
  • 2 Cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • Pinch of grated nutmeg
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Black pepper

Method

  • Cook the pasta according to the packet instructions, usually about 10-12 minutes
  • Meanwhile, fry the pancetta in a wok or frying pan for a few minutes until it starts going crispy
  • Add the chopped onion and garlic and cook for a few more minutes until the onion has softened, you can add a tablespoonful of olive oil at this stage if needed
  • Stir in the crème fraiche
  • Stir until heated through for 1-2 minutes, but don’t bring to the boil
  • Add the peas to the pasta and cook for a minute
  • Drain the pasta and peas and pour into the sauce
  • Add the nutmeg and season with black pepper
  • Toss the pasta and serve with grated Parmesan cheese
