We seem to be awash in strawberries at the moment, so I thought I’d put them to good use and try out a simple recipe. I had the idea when walking through a huge supermarket in France. Although we had to run through the bakery with blinkers on (if you stop, you’ll buy!)
I did manage to catch a glimpse of what looked like a lumpy chocolate bar. It looked like it was just chocolate covering something so I guessed strawberries.

On arriving home I couldn’t wait to have a go.
I cut the stalks off the strawberries and placed them on some greaseproof paper and sat them on the base of a butter dish.
Then melted 4 ½ oz of dark chocolate in a double boiler, and carefully poured it over the fruit. I keep reading that chocolate chips are better to melt but I just used a basic supermarket bar of chocolate and it turned out excellent. Well, let’s put it this way, there was none left the following day!
