Weekend looming.
Friday evening is cards night with my father-in-law (sometimes he lets me win).
After is when it all kicks off.
Two very good friends come round to commiserate.
This usually means supper, a game of poker, rounded off with a good cheese and a glass (or two) of port.
What do we do for supper?

Les will usually put something together ie: in a slow cooker or on the hob.
My idea was, beef tomatoes, olive oil, sprinkled with chopped garlic, basil leaves(infused in the olive oil-to stop it burning) and put in the oven at gas mark 6/200°C for 40 minutes.
Just before serving, drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil and a splash of balsamic vinegar.
Serve with hot crusty bread (for dipping) and a glass or two of red wine.
I won!
