Father's Day

by Lesley on June 9, 2008

Baz must have the patience of a saint! (or be a bit stupid!) There is no way I would even think about making bread without using the bread maker, just too time consuming and does my wrists in, all that kneading and stretching, I used to make it by hand but only when I wanted to take out my frustration by thumping the hell out of the dough, and I know all the bread went (birds were delighted).

Enough of bread, Fathers Day is on Sunday so my mind is on B.B.Q. I want to try kebabs but not the usual ones we have. So I’m going for Lamb Kebab's with New Potatoes and onions.
I made them yesterday as a pre run.

I had some lamb steaks in the freezer so after I defrosted them I cut them into bit size cubes (depending on how big your mouth is) and made up a marinade of garlic, rosemary and extra virgin olive oil, put the meat in and left for half an hour while the B.B.Q. heated up.

Then I boiled some new potatoes for about 10 minutes and drained, and threaded them on the kebab sticks with the lamb and a wedge of red onion in between.

Yep, they turned out great and made a nice change from the usual B.B.Q. stuff and if it rains on Sunday I’ll grill them! I know my dad will love them. I’ll serve them with a crispy green salad.

Hmmm, I don't eat lamb, but it still sounded quite nice Lesley. It really is a bit of a departure from the usual stuff. We're getting quite a nice weather here lately, so I will definitely try those soon.

You can follow them up with the marshmallows between tea biscuits desert we tried on the BBQ - awesome!
