Did anyone try the Lamb Kebabs with New Potatoes? Friends who prefer to give meat the thumbs down have tried the kebabs with fish (thick flesh such as monkfish) and said it really worked well, I've yet to try.
My son and his wife came to us on Father’s Day, we had a really nice day, but I couldn't stop myself, telling them that they got the date for the flypast wrong, it was 24 hours early.
It was then explained to me that the flypast was for the Queen’s official birthday.
It was a fantastic sight, but, and there's always a but, wouldn’t it have been just as nice and a lot cleaner for the environment to have just sent a recycled card?
Sun shinning, B-B-Q weather well and truly here, still haven’t done the fish.
Don't give up on me yet, it will happen.
With little or no time to do every thing I want to, I have finally accepted salads.
Start small and work your way up, it's the only way to go.
Les gave me the task to come up with a simple salad.
Try this.
4 large tomatoes, cut into 5mm slices and lay in a shallow bowl, try not to go more than two slices deep.
Finely chop a large clove of garlic and 6 fresh basil leaves then sprinkle over the tomatoes.
Mix together 4tbsp olive oil and 2tbsp balsamic vinegar, then pour over the tomatoes.
Cover with Clingfilm and leave in the fridge for at least 30 minutes
Just before you dish up, add a little chopped parsley and some basil leaves.

I found a site that is certainly worth a look called Home cooking tips, tell me what you think.
