Weather Forecast, eat in or eat out?

by Lesley on August 16, 2009

Finally, summer has arrived, well for this week anyway, and now Baz has dragged out the old barbecue
we’d better put it to good use, or will it be the usual burnt offerings?

Normally, in our garden you’ll see a big plume of smoke, don’t ask me why, but every time Baz starts the barbecue we end up with the garden looking like Vesuvius has erupted again!

What is it about men and barbecues? Even Gordon Ramsay agrees with me, he says: “it so frustrates me, why do men feel they have to be the one in charge?”

"For God's sake all you men, leave the barbecue to the ladies and go and sort out the drinks instead. You are pretty much all useless.
"And if you absolutely must pick up the tongs then don't drink first! You wouldn't have a few drinks and then tackle the Sunday lunch would you?

Baz will love this, not!

I think we must have bought every type of barbecue over the years, but it doesn’t make any difference, we still end up sitting inside until you can see the end of the garden again. What I find embarrassing is, when the neighbours start coughing.

Last time he fired up the barbecue there was a knock on our door, our neighbour from three houses down was standing in front of me with a WW2 gas mask on!!

Luckily there was a smoke free zone in our area this weekend, had Baz finally cracked it? No, we ate round our friends’ house!

Here’s the Blue cheese dressing I made to take with us,

I forgot the friend doesn’t like Blue cheese, but she ate it anyway, including stealing a bit more for their Sunday barbeque.

I love it! I hope Baz doesn’t come after you with the bbq tongs when he reads this. The salad and the blue cheese dressing looks wonderful.

LOL…funny neighbor.
What’s semi skimmed milk?

Lesley August 18, 2009 at 1:04 pm

Hi Jessica,
Yeah, he’s a hoot!! Wouldn’t be the same without him..
semi-skimmed milk retains less than half of the fat of whole milk (1.7% compared with 3.9%).
