Apple Puff Dessert

Ingredients
- 200g/7oz puff pastry
- 2 Golden Delicious apples
- 50g/1 ½ oz Golden caster sugar
- 20g/ ½ oz Icing sugar
- 1-2 Scoops soft vanilla ice cream

Method
- Roll out the pastry to 16cm(6¼") x 23cm(9¼")
- Place on a greased baking tin
- Peel and core the apples
- Cut the apples in half and slice thinly
- Arrange on the pastry-slightly overlapping
- Sprinkle over the caster sugar
- Bake in a pre-heated oven 375F/190C/gas mark 5 for about 20 mins, until golden brown
- Dust with icing sugar
- Serve with ice cream
Cooks tip
- Instead of a rolling pin I use a cold bottle of wine from the fridge-it keeps the pastry cool and works a treat.
- If you can’t get Golden Delicious apples just use a good eating apple
