Onion Bhajee

Makes 18 bhajees
Prep Time 15 mins
Ingredients
- 4 Medium onions
- 8oz/225g Gram flour
- 3 or 4 tsp Salt (depending on your taste)
- 2 tbsp Mint sauce
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- 1 tsp Fresh coriander-finely chopped
- Vegetable oil for frying
Method
- Peel and thinly slice the onions
- Sift the gram flour and salt into a bowl
- Add enough water to make a stiff batter
- Add the onions and all the remaining ingredients and mix well using your hands
- Drop a tablespoonful of the mixture into the hot oil
- Fry for 3 minutes
- Remove the bhajees from the oil
- Lay on kitchen paper and press into flat circular patti shapes
- Return to the oil and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the outside is a dark brown

- Coriander

- Large mixing bowl
- Large wok or deep frying pan
Cooks tip
- Can be made the day before and kept in the fridge, cover with foil
